One of the many leaders on this football team who just won't quit despite the results. LB Keenan Guthrie has been flying around and making plays for three years. He led the team in tackles last weekend with 11 and had one tackle for a loss. He brings energy, passion and enthusiasm to every practice and game. The Bears play host to Northern Arizona this Saturday at noon.
The Bears prepare for Northern Arizona this Saturday at Nottingham @ noon. Here's coach Lamb today.
Coach Lamb on quarterback Peter Costelli's return on Saturday. He was out for nine weeks after being injured late in the game at CSU in September.
7 games ago, Carver Cheeks banked on himself and asked Coach Lamb if he could switch from safety to receiver. The success rate for this kind of thing is pretty low. Cheeks didn't care. He is making the most of his opportunity. He's only played six games at receiver and he's caught 15 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns. He had his best game today hauling in 4 passes for 136 yards which included a 75 yard TD reception. He's not just catching passes, Carver is playing with a lot of confidence and determination. He's a physical football player who has the athleticism to create problems for opposing corners and safeties. His older brother Cash has transformed himself into a bigger and stronger pass catcher at tight end after playing receiver last year. Here's more on Carver and his plays today.
