UPDATE: Winter conditioning and spring football can sometimes be a grind so Carson Keach had a little fun last week following an interception. The sophomore from Ponderosa HS in Parker, CO executed his best cartwheel downfield after picking off a pass. Two more weeks of spring football remain for the UNC Bears.

UPDATE: Redshirt Jr. Rocco Traore enters his fourth season with the UNC Bears football program. However, this is his first month playing running back at the college level. He was a great running back in high school in the Seattle area but was more valuable as a defensive back in Greeley the past three years. He's seen a lot during his time with the Bears including teammates leaving like Carver Cheeks and Noah Mangham did last week. Rocco takes it all in stride.

Good Morning: Happy Easter! One of the spiritual leaders on the UNC Bears team is R-Jr. LB Jordan Davis (32) who always has a smile on his face and puts team first. He was a star at Cherokee Trail HS in Aurora and his dad played running back at Kansas with the Jayhawks in the late 90s. Davis is one of those guys you have to have in order to enjoy success in college football.

UPDATE: Other notable observations during today's scrimmage. Assistant Head Coach / Defensive Line Coach Aaron Fernandez says on Easter weekend "It's a great day...." and the team responds "To be alive". Peter Costelli (8) slides out of the pocket to hit Hank Gibbs (45). Costelli looks healthy and strong as does TE Gibbs who I'll dub as a Bearcat instead of a wildcat. Once again, he'll be able to catch, block, run and throw depending on the package. Ladavion Osborn (7) and Cam Chapa (13) team up on defense in pass coverage to break up a pass over the middle. Chapa had another big day with two interceptions. Receiver Jay Barry (80) returns for his graduate season and caught plenty of passes today. Returning LBs KJ Smedley (8) and Zach Nowatzke (42) who've played a lot of football the past three years continue to fly around and hit guys. (1) WR Braden Munroe had another impressive week of practice. R-Jr. Nate Gillis (20) registered a sack, covered well and broke up some passes ...
