He entered fall camp as the sixth quarterback on the UNC Bears roster after transferring from Div. II Colorado Mesa. The Hawaii native is a graduate student who knew his chances of playing were slim. However, he had faith and worked hard to help the Bears anyway he could. Five separate circumstances occured and Keone found himself starting for the second straight week 12 days ago at Weber State. The unlikely story continues as he goes for his second straight win as the starting QB.
Tonight, I asked him about this week's game, Montana's defense, what would life be like this week if he was still sixth on the depth chart? He discusses being on the same page with his receivers, offensive line and running backs. Keone also talks about the work ethic of the team and helping younger players with confidence if they need it. Keone enjoys watching a lot of quarterbacks including two guys he works out with in Tua Tagovailoa and Marcus Mariota.
Don't forget, it's Kids Day at the big game this Saturday @ 1pm in Greeley! Bring the kids and bring the noise!
UPDATE: Winter conditioning and spring football can sometimes be a grind so Carson Keach had a little fun last week following an interception. The sophomore from Ponderosa HS in Parker, CO executed his best cartwheel downfield after picking off a pass. Two more weeks of spring football remain for the UNC Bears.

UPDATE: Redshirt Jr. Rocco Traore enters his fourth season with the UNC Bears football program. However, this is his first month playing running back at the college level. He was a great running back in high school in the Seattle area but was more valuable as a defensive back in Greeley the past three years. He's seen a lot during his time with the Bears including teammates leaving like Carver Cheeks and Noah Mangham did last week. Rocco takes it all in stride.

Good Morning: Happy Easter! One of the spiritual leaders on the UNC Bears team is R-Jr. LB Jordan Davis (32) who always has a smile on his face and puts team first. He was a star at Cherokee Trail HS in Aurora and his dad played running back at Kansas with the Jayhawks in the late 90s. Davis is one of those guys you have to have in order to enjoy success in college football.
