UNC Bears Play of The Game. On his first carry ever as a Bear, Jr. Running Back Vann Schield who transferred from CSU sprinted 58 yards untouched for a touchdown in the first quarter to tie Incarnate Word 7-7. Schield carried the ball 11 times for 80 yards and averaged just over 7 yards a carry.
David Afari ran hard again and finished with 69 yards on 19 carries. Helped set up Schield's touchdown. With Caden Meis and Darius Stewart recovering from injury, true freshman Mathias Price made the trip and ran it three times. He's on his way to a bright future. 28-7 Incarnate Word defeats the Bears in week one. Thank you for becoming a supporter as I'll be bringing bonus coverage for supporters! I appreciate all of you. GO BEARS!
UPDATE: Winter conditioning and spring football can sometimes be a grind so Carson Keach had a little fun last week following an interception. The sophomore from Ponderosa HS in Parker, CO executed his best cartwheel downfield after picking off a pass. Two more weeks of spring football remain for the UNC Bears.

UPDATE: Redshirt Jr. Rocco Traore enters his fourth season with the UNC Bears football program. However, this is his first month playing running back at the college level. He was a great running back in high school in the Seattle area but was more valuable as a defensive back in Greeley the past three years. He's seen a lot during his time with the Bears including teammates leaving like Carver Cheeks and Noah Mangham did last week. Rocco takes it all in stride.

Good Morning: Happy Easter! One of the spiritual leaders on the UNC Bears team is R-Jr. LB Jordan Davis (32) who always has a smile on his face and puts team first. He was a star at Cherokee Trail HS in Aurora and his dad played running back at Kansas with the Jayhawks in the late 90s. Davis is one of those guys you have to have in order to enjoy success in college football.
