BEAR THE THOUGHT: My scattered thoughts on @UNC_BearsFB . I’ll do this every week.
🐻Offensive line with Nanninga, Thompson, Moe, Betschart and Ziebell makes me feel good. Having Sierra, Johnson and three more ready makes me feel even better.
🐻One thing that really fires me up about this program is every position has tough guys. From backers to kickers.
🐻Guthrie, Smedley, Tuha, Nowatzke, Polson all fly around and deliver at LB as do Weslin, Palladino, Wright and the rest of the room.
🐻A lot of people talk about lights at the stadium. I actually hate lights because college football is meant to be played on Saturday afternoons. It also encourages college programs to lesson high school football when they compete with local schools on Friday nights for a pay check from a network. Yes, I know, you have to have lights to host an FCS playoff game. That would be the best argument for them. But as Coach Lamb told Brady on his podcast, Southern Utah opened up on the road when he led them to the conference title and he likes day games also. It’s also better for players’ preparation because they aren’t sitting around all day long.
🐻TEs Clements, Cheeks, Garrison and Howard bring a lot of length and strength.
🐻UIW is a difficult place to play because of the heat and humidity. It’ll also be a great atmosphere because they love their successful program. They do compete for eyes with UTSA and San Antonio high school football games and of course UT and Texas A&M games.
🐻If you do head to San Antonio, the riverwalk is worth the visit as are the Tex-Mex spots.
🐻Starting next Sunday, I’ll bring you UNC BEARS FOOTBALL WEEKLY on Sunday nights on blakeolsonfootball.locals.com for the price of a small cup of coffee! You don’t want to miss it! Thanks to all of you dedicated Bears fans for becoming supporters on locals. This is an awesome group of players and coaches and I’m excited about the future! https://x.com/blakeolson1/status/1827861134906650953?s=46&t=mTz0mzwK7q9OrOFbGygPmw
UPDATE: Winter conditioning and spring football can sometimes be a grind so Carson Keach had a little fun last week following an interception. The sophomore from Ponderosa HS in Parker, CO executed his best cartwheel downfield after picking off a pass. Two more weeks of spring football remain for the UNC Bears.

UPDATE: Redshirt Jr. Rocco Traore enters his fourth season with the UNC Bears football program. However, this is his first month playing running back at the college level. He was a great running back in high school in the Seattle area but was more valuable as a defensive back in Greeley the past three years. He's seen a lot during his time with the Bears including teammates leaving like Carver Cheeks and Noah Mangham did last week. Rocco takes it all in stride.

Good Morning: Happy Easter! One of the spiritual leaders on the UNC Bears team is R-Jr. LB Jordan Davis (32) who always has a smile on his face and puts team first. He was a star at Cherokee Trail HS in Aurora and his dad played running back at Kansas with the Jayhawks in the late 90s. Davis is one of those guys you have to have in order to enjoy success in college football.
